The opportunity

Our Information Services department is evolving to meet the needs of our growing business and we are expanding to support the rollout of our Citizen Development and Digital Workplace Innovation strategy.


We are looking for an Application Developer who has knowledge and experience in technical design, development, and support for in-house built applications or vendor solutions.

 

What you’ll do

The position requires experience in Application Support with Application Development skills and a good understanding of the business processes who can:

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance application code
  • Maintain documentation of vendor and in-house developed application solutions
  • Work effectively within the TC Energy corporate environment, including North America (Canada, US and Mexico) based IS teams, and actively contribute to the success of the Company
  • Have a proven ability to effectively develop application code and to communicate business and technical issues
  • Take a logical and systematic approach to problem solving
  • Participates in development projects and brings innovative design of information management solutions
  • Other tasks as required


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or technical diploma in Computer Science or Information Systems
  • Two (2) or more years of work experience related to application delivery
  • At least two years of work experience in Web, C#, .Net and Javascript (reactJS or other JS frameworks a plus) development
  • Experience with source code control tools (GIT preferred), layered architecture, web application security, and relational databases (MS SQL experience preferred)
  • Good analytical skills demonstrated by the ability to organize thoughts and ideas in a logical manner and skills to communicate appropriately at all levels of the organization
  • Team player, ability to collaborate
  • Experience building and supporting business critical applications
  • Superior problem-solving skills and careful attention to detail

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Robotic Process Automation platforms, like BluePrism, Power Automate Desktop, Automation Anywhere, UIPath and similar tools
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Platform (MS Forms, Power Automate, Power BI, Power Apps)
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodology and engineering practices including test driven development, continuous integration, iterative development, and paired programming
