CLINICAL BUSINESS ANALYST - LAB

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Clinical Business Analyst will be responsible for completing much of the day-to-day work involved with operational support across a number of functional areas, including (but not limited to): Orders and Results, Clinical Documentation, Diagnostics and Medication Integration. Clinical Business Analysts are assigned to a specific team based on their skills and experience. This role will provide analysis and help in the identification of process improvement opportunities within their team. As clinical resources by background, the Clinical Business Analysts are expected to apply their experiences as a front-line staff member and liaise with colleagues across the four hospitals to ensure the design changes of the Hospital Information System (HIS) are practical, evidence based, and meet the needs of the region.

 

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Expected to apply knowledge and experience from being a front-line clinician to all related activities to ensure efforts are clinically-led
  • Ensure changes to documentation or requirements are tracked and circulated to appropriate TransForm team members as required.
  • Communicates, prioritizes, tracks, and resolves issues related to their team in a timely fashion.
  • Assist in the development of any training materials applicable to their team.
  • Be a champion for the HIS with their colleagues.
  • Document work processes and provide gap analysis findings between current and future state
  • Inform the enhancement of existing policies and procedures that impact the work completed within their team.

 

MUST- HAVES:

·        Minimum three (3) year Diploma or Degree in healthcare or related discipline

·        Minimum two to four (2-4) years of experience working in a healthcare setting

·        Knowledge of hospital and lab operations

·        Excellent written and interpersonal skills are essential

·        Must be able to perform multiple tasks and effectively prioritize work

·        Able to handle a fast-paced environment and react positively under pressure

·        Lab Experience considered an asset

·        Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Project, Visio


 

WE VALUE:

·        Previous hospital lab experience preferred

·        Project Management experience preferred

·        Strong knowledge of general workflows in a hospital environment an asset

 

OTHER CONDITIONS:

  • Minimal exposure to disagreeable conditions typical of an office position:  exposed to stress and pressure associated with multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Must be able to travel within the Southwestern Ontario area, when required
  • Must be able to work evenings and weekends, when required
