The Opportunity:

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be an integral member of the team. You will be empowered to lead development capabilities that better match Homeowner’s projects with the right Service Providers for the job, and scale our marketplace services to handle an order of magnitude growth in service requests. You will ship improvements to production weekly, so we can learn from our users, and live and breath our Engineering Values, such as:

Our stack:

• Languages / Frameworks: Ruby on Rails, React, NodeJS
• Datastores: MySQL, Postgres
• Cloud Provider: AWS
• Messaging: RabbitMQ

Requirements

• You have extensive experience with Ruby on Rails
• You have designed and built software for a distributed system
• You write clean code, and you help others improve theirs’
• You confidently improve legacy applications
• You clearly explain complex technical concepts to a non-technical audience
• You are continuously learning and share freely with others
• You value shipping quality software and constantly test what you build

Nice to have:

• Experience leading teams
• Experience with TDD / BDD
• Experience owning your software in production
• Experience with continuous deployment
