At Skylab, we build the next generation of AI-powered computational photography tools. Our first product, Genesis, provides the automation tools for photography studios to scale up image production while bringing the operational costs down. Skylab is looking for machine learning/computer vision research engineers proficient in ML-algorithm development and deployment. We seek a highly motivated candidate to join our team for a full-time role. We provide a flexible work environment with a unique opportunity to join a growing team.

Job Responsibilities

• Help with the research and development of new/existing AI-backed products.
• Review the state-of-the-art techniques in the relevant subfields in machine learning and computer vision.
• Quickly prototype a variety of machine-learning techniques.
• Run experiments, evaluate performance, and report results.
• Tune machine learning methods for optimal performance in application.
• Deploy models for production on the cloud and mobile platforms.

Required Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Data Science, or Computer Science, Statistics, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or any equivalent degree. We prefer candidates with a strong background in computer vision/image processing research.
• Will consider strong M.Sc. candidates who have a background in computer vision and software engineering.
• Strong mathematical analysis and problem solving abilities.
• Comfortable working independently, as well as part of a fast-paced and collaborative team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficient in Python and PyTorch.
• Solid machine learning background.
• Software engineering experience.
• Experience with computer vision tasks.
• Experience with decision trees, naive Bayes, least squares regression, logistic regression, SVM, random forests, convolutional neural networks.
• Interested in following the state-of-art in deep learning.
