The Opportunity
The Solution Architect will inherit a project that is migrating a data warehouse from Azure Synapse (Azure Data Warehouse) to Snowflake. The patterns and practices in the new platform are designed to empower data-oriented analysts and groups from all business units to access and query the data as an empowerment tool. You will help establish a strong SDLC and TDD pattern and will ensure that the engineers building the data models within the warehouse.
The backend of the platform (i.e. the repository and refinery) is Snowflake, with the intent of pushing the compute down to snowflake as often as possible. The transformation scripting tool will be either DBT or Talend based on an evaluation currently underway. Regardless, the tool will enable reusable coding patterns, strong git integration and embedded testing patterns. The frontend of the platform will be built on Looker to represent the semantic layer, to enable visualization-based analyses and storytelling, and to establish a client-facing dashboard.
