DevOps Engineer Lead

Bucketlist is currently looking for an experienced DevOps Engineering Lead to join our growing team. This role will be responsible for managing the growth of our cloud environment. As our DevOps Engineer, you will define the best practices for the team and work collaboratively to develop our DevOps strategy. Key Responsibilities:


  • Build a strong relationship with the development team to understand our product, its code and the current infrastructure.
  • Maintain, design, monitor, benchmark and improve our product’s cloud infrastructure.
  • Work with other team members and take ownership, enhance and document continuous integration (CI) and continuous deployment (CD) infrastructure for the dev team, optimizing release cycles.
  • Develop best practices aimed at keeping security central to all key processes, including: automation of key processes, release schedules and infrastructure design.
  • Maintaining, introducing and improving internal security policies following industry security standards.


Required Skills for Success:


  • Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
  • Proficiency in Python
  • Ability to influence and communicate cross-functionally and across teams
  • Experience building cloud-based infrastructure solutions with a strong governance model knowledge
  • Infrastructure automation through scripting and the use and knowledge of cloud infrastructure tools like AWS
  • Knowledge of Git, and CI/CD tools (i.e. Jenkins, BitBucket pipelines, etc)
  • Previous experience with agile methodologies to plan and manage daily tasks
  • Ability to quickly identify problems or bottlenecks in everyday processes and suggest improvements 
  • Experience in performing risk assessments and gap analysis
  • Experience with strategic planning for information security and developing information security policies and frameworks
  • Experience with IT compliance and risk management requirements (e.g. security policies, privacy, SOC, ISO, etc.)
  • Ability to take initiative, innovate and experiment


Preferred Experience:


  • Familiarity with SRE, SLOs, SLIs, MTTR, etc
  • Experience with Cloud deployments and containerization tools (i.e. Docker, Kubernete, etc)
  • Experience monitoring and troubleshooting web applications in production
  • Familiarity with web technologies and frameworks such as Django
  • Experience with PostgreSQL applications
