Digital Marketing Associate (SEO + Content)

Remote (Canada)

Salary: $60,000 - $70,000/yr – Full Time

What You’ll Be Doing

While the time spent in each category will vary based on business needs, your core role will revolve around:

SEO (50%):

  • Perform keyword research for SEO and Google Ad campaigns
  • Creating daily paid media reports for ad spend pacing and result tracking
  • SEO content writing to convert ideas into longform articles that incorporate keywords and make sense to both Google and humans, without the need for unnecessary filler
  • Blogger and publication outreach to pitch story lines and earn backlinks
  • Cleaning imported data and using pivot tables to analyze for campaign effectiveness

Content (50%):

  • Help define and shape Perch’s content strategy through social listening and competitive monitoring to come up with new ideas to attract and engage our target audience of tech savvy home buyers and homeowners
  • Simplify complex concepts into approachable and accurate copy for a variety of Perch online channels, including web, social media and email
  • Revise copy or content direction based on feedback from the Director of Marketing
  • Stay on top of content trends and industry news to inform our content strategy

Being part of a small team, you will see the direct impact of everything you do as it relates to our success and growth. We’re all about pushing forward new ideas and constantly improving our product, so we tend to be more task-oriented rather than spending tons of time in meetings. You’ll be expected to ask questions and get clarification as needed, so you can move an initiative forward.

Skills You Should Possess

Need to Have

  • 1-2 years experience in a Marketing, Communications or Growth role
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, and fluent in the language of the internet and pop culture in general
  • Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint, or Google Sheets and Google Slides
  • Independent thinker that will challenge colleague’s opinions and is okay with being challenged themselves
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively
  • A willingness to learn and adapt quickly, and collaborate with others
  • The ability to draw insights from data being analyzed and translate it into actionable recommendations
  • You must be a Canadian resident and legally entitled to work in Canada
  • You must have graduated from a post-secondary institution

Nice to Have

  • Experience in a start-up environment
  • An interest in real estate, mortgages and/or personal finance
  • Familiarity with BI tools like Microsoft PowerBI
  • Familiarity with navigating the Google Ads or Facebook Ads platform
  • Familiarity with Canva or similar
  • Previous experience using Ahrefs, Moz or Semrush
  • Previous experience with PR or SEO outreach
