Director, Enterprise Architecture

$96,400.00 - $128,100.03 annually

 

The Digital Investment Office, on behalf of the Deputy Ministers’ Committee on Digital and Data and the Government Chief Information Officer, has the responsibility for all government’s IM/IT capital investments. The Digital Investment Office (the “branch”) is a small, specialized group that advises the Government Chief Information Officer, Chief Digital Officer and Deputy Ministers’ Committee on Digital and Data on setting the Province’s digital strategy and making sound investments in digital products and services across government.

As the Director, Enterprise Architecture, you will be responsible for building and leading a modern enterprise architecture team that meets the needs of ministries and stakeholders across the BC Public Service. The Enterprise Architecture team within the Digital Investment Office is responsible for working with partners across the BC Public Service to provide actionable architectural advice to ministries, including delivering consulting engagements and maintaining an open repository of advice and well-known patterns (e.g. reference architectures, integration frameworks and patterns, demo applications and quick start templates). Other responsibilities of the team include developing a cross-government architectural vision, prioritizing investments in common components, leading cross-government application portfolio management, convening a cross-government community of enterprise and solution architects and championing the architecture profession across government, providing expert architectural advice and recommendations to senior decision makers, and ensuring that the Province’s technology standards remain relevant and up to date.  


Qualifications for this role include:

 

  • A degree in Computer Science or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • A minimum three (3) years’ experience leading multi-disciplinary teams of professional and technical staff.
  • A minimum three (3) years’ experience in each of the following:
  • Business planning.
  • Contract management.
  • Financial management.
  • Experience in a senior management role leading new business development projects and/or business transformation projects involving a diverse range of project portfolios.
