Dynamics 365 and SharePoint/Power Platform Developer

About Our Client:

Our client is a national, independent, and not-for-profit organization that assists in resolving disputes between consumers and financial services firms in both official languages of Canada. The organization is dedicated to responding to consumer inquiries, conducting fair and accessible investigations into unresolved disputes, and sharing its expertise with stakeholders and the public. If a consumer is unable to resolve a complaint against a participating bank or investment firm, our client will investigate at no cost to the consumer.


Duties and Responsibilities:

The Senior Application & Systems Developer will be pivotal in managing and developing applications and systems critical to our client’s operations and the delivery of consistent and timely services. Responsibilities include:

  • Developing applications on Dynamics 365, SharePoint, Power Apps, and integrating third-party applications.
  • Writing and managing code for applications, integrations, and processes.
  • Configuring and managing entities, forms, fields, templates, and knowledge base tools.
  • Evaluating modern technologies, including AI-based tools, and leading their implementation.
  • Developing and managing integrations between business applications.
  • Leading project management activities including end-user consultations.
  • Enforcing software development lifecycle and solution management processes, including risk management and security controls.
  • Leading annual software upgrade initiatives.
  • Supporting data management, reporting, and data integrity initiatives.
  • Documenting functional requirements and supporting ongoing communication technology applications.
  • Managing IT change, staff training, and contributing to continuous improvement efforts within the IT department.


Experience:

  • 8-10 years in IT application and database development, maintenance, and reporting.
  • Strong expertise in Microsoft Dynamics 365 (required), SharePoint, and Power Platform.
  • Experience with Agile and SDLC methodologies in technology change management.
  • Proven ability to support software application users and manage multiple support requests.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Considerable experience working with external vendors and teams across locations.


Competencies & Skills:

  • Proficiency with Dynamics 365, Office 365, Power Platform, and client-side scripting languages like JavaScript.
  • Experience in .NET, C#, VB.NET, Microsoft Azure, Azure Portal, and Azure DevOps.
  • Familiarity with REST and SOAP APIs, SQL, SSRS, Excel VBA, Power BI, Power Pivot, and Power Query.
  • Understanding of AI implementations in Microsoft Office environments is an advantage.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating strong leadership and teamwork skills.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and thoroughness in task completion.
