Hotel Content Marketer

Remote (Canada)

Who We Are Looking For:

Event Temple is hiring a full-time Hotel Content Marketer who is confident in managing and executing on a wide range of hotel focused marketing initiatives to drive performance metrics.


The purpose of this role is to provide world class education to our prospects and customers via answering questions through content and then distributing that content across a variety of platforms. The most important thing is that you know the challenges of a hotel salesperson. You have walked in their shoes and understand a day in the life.


You are the perfect fit for this role if you have previously worked in a hotel sales environment, know the challenges faced, enjoy wearing multiple hats, are both creative and analytical, live for data, have a strong sense of ownership, and love the feeling of building systems that work.  


About You:

You have a “can-do” attitude and you aren’t afraid to give things a try. You can put together a video, write an e-book or create a landing page. You aren’t afraid of technology or learning new things. You are incredibly resourceful and if you don’t know how to do something, you enjoy learning how. Google and Youtube are your favorite teacher and you have a passion for learning new things, rolling up your sleeves and getting things done. To describe you as resourceful and scrappy would be an understatement. 


Reporting:

You will report to the Director of Partnerships and Growth and will also have the opportunity to work directly with the CEO & Co-Founder


What You’ll Do Day To Day:

You will be responsible for ensuring the successful execution of our inbound marketing strategy including:

  • Creating & implementing world class hotel sales educational content
  • Answering customer and prospect’s questions through content
  • Distributing content across a variety of platforms to grow traffic, followers, MQLs and SQLs
  • Overseeing content writers, link building initiatives + appropriate on-page SEO to scale the team if required
  • Product marketing initiatives

A Day In The Life:

No day would ever be the same, but it would be a mix of writing and creating content, working with our Sales and Success teams to identify common customer and prospect questions and then repurposing and distributing educational content to reach a broad audience of hoteliers.


Additionally, you will be responsible for tracking performance of outsourcers, monitoring key performance metrics and creating internal training to help ensure more predictable results.

Skills:

  • Background in digital marketing (required) - at least 2 years full time experience
  • Background in Hotel sales and marketing (required) - at least 2 years full time
  • Understanding of SEO and keyword research
  • Understanding of inbound marketing and content marketing
  • Excellent project manager
  • Ability to build internal systems including checklists, guides, e-learning, video tutorials, that others can follow to execute tactical marketing initiatives
  • Consistent measurement and reporting - especially for outsourcers (ensure they are delivering on their weekly activity targets and monthly KPIs)


We have a 4 step process for this role including:


  1. 10 minute pre-screen
  2. 1 hour tactical interview
  3. Take-home assignment
  4. 1 hour culture interview
