Information Technology Coordinator


The University of Toronto Faculty Association (UTFA) is the Association representing all full-time and part-time faculty members and academic librarians at the University of Toronto. It is seeking to fill a one-year term Information Technology (IT) Coordinator position in an active Association office located near the University of Toronto downtown campus.


The IT Coordinator is responsible to the UTFA Operations Manager or designate.


The incumbent will be a member of the CUPE 1281 union.

The IT Coordinator is responsible for assisting UTFA in the development and implementation of data management systems for data management, membership data analytics, office technology, e-blasts, website maintenance, hybrid meeting support, and internal administrative processes and procedures.


The successful candidate will possess the following or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience:


  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or Computer Science , or related field.
  • Expert proficiency with Windows and iOS operating systems.
  • Combination of education and work experience will be considered.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office 365 and Exchange, Google Workspace, Google Analytics, Salesforce (AdvoLogix), Survey Monkey, Zoom, Sendy, HTML, CSS, Drupal, social media applications, and web design is an asset.
  • Salesforce Coordinator and Salesforce Advanced Administration Certifications.
  • In depth knowledge working with Salesforce automation processes such as flows, workflow rules, validation rules, approval processes, and other functionalities.
  • Experience integrating Salesforce with other enterprise applications and proprietary software. Relevant certifications are a plus.
  • Strong understanding of data structures and data modelling.
  • Audio visual (microphones, speakers, displays, BYOD), collaborative work spaces, video conferencing, meeting/conference room set-up, experience is a plus.
  • Familiar with Zoom, Zoom Rooms, Zoom Meetings, Zoom Webinars and all peripheral technology supporting hybrid meetings.
  • Advanced computer and technological literacy, particularly in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems and platforms to advance and track campaign work, mobilization and member engagement
  • An understanding of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and other accessibility considerations for both web and print communications.

The successful candidate will possess the following or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience:


  • Ability to adapt to changing technology trends and business requirements;
  • A proficient level of communication and analytical skills appropriate to a member based advocacy environment as well as competence in project and data management;
  • Demonstrated skills in information and database creation and management, including survey design and working with large data sets;
  • The ability to work on projects both individually and in collaboration with other staff members independent of supervision.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, written and oral communication skills, and meeting facilitation skills;
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, time-management and prioritizing skills to manage work subject to tight deadlines in a dynamic and changing environment when working alone and as a member of a team;
  • Experience mentoring and coaching technology to less experienced team members;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

This term contract position falls within the CUPE 1281 bargaining unit. The salary range for this position is $70,000.00 to $95,000.00. The starting salary will be commensurate with education and experience. The employee will be provided with access to an excellent defined benefit pension plan with the University Pension Plan.
