Intermediate Technical Analyst

$66,557.72 - $75,884.38 annually plus 6.6% Temporary Market Adjustment


The BC Data Service division (BCDS) is responsible for developing statistics about B.C. and provides technical tools and services to maximize data’s use and value for government and the broader public sector - while working closely with partners and clients to ensure that data is used in ways that support better government. The Data Systems and Services branch within BCDS is a central service provider and systems manager for data discovery and sharing, data warehousing and publication, API discovery and management, data acquisition, analysis and visualization, digital map, and location services delivery.


As a member of an Agile team and a contributor to our DevOps Chapter, the Intermediate Technical Analyst will help the team to plan and execute the design, development and implementation of solutions that meet client requirements. They will provide technical expertise to support application and technology solutions and develop the configuration and installation management plans and scripts for new systems. They will also plan, monitor, and test systems to ensure reliability and recovery objectives are met.

Qualifications for this role include:

  • Degree, diploma or certificate in Computer Science or related discipline; OR
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Experience in investigating and implementing complex IT integration challenges.
  • Experience troubleshooting, testing, implementing software and hardware solutions.
  • Experience with version control for code management.
