IT Administrator

Toronto, ON

What if you could personally impact the future of healthcare? As part of the PocketHealth team, you will enable hospitals and clinics across North America — and more importantly, empower over a million patients — to discover a better healthcare experience.

PocketHealth is a patient-centric platform that enables hospitals and clinics across North America to share imaging records digitally with patients, instantly and securely. Through our platform, we enable patients to be active and engaged participants in their own care, and take control of their care journey. In addition to image sharing, which is the heart of the PocketHealth platform, we’ve grown our core functionality to enable sharing between hospitals and physicians, as well as instant image retrieval and automated importing capability. PocketHealth is a unified image management solution for over 600 hospitals and clinics across North America. We believe that by placing patients at the center of the record release process, data moves more ethically, easily and securely throughout the care journey, and we’re looking for passionate individuals to help make this vision a reality for millions more patients across North America.

As an IT Administrator at PocketHealth, you’ll personally ensure that our team's technology is effective, secure, and scalable, helping our business grow and our employees work to the best of their abilities.

We are looking for a reliable, organized, and solution-oriented IT Administrator to join our small-but-mighty IT team. As a key member of the Operations team reporting directly to the Manager, IT and coordinating with the Chief Technology Officer and VP of Operations, the IT Administrator will be responsible for implementing investments we make in data privacy and cybersecurity, supporting team members through account provisioning and troubleshooting issues that arise, as well as managing our fleet of corporate devices.

While much of our team is remote, this role will primarily work onsite in our Queens Quay Waterfront office in downtown Toronto, ~4 days per week. Onsite work is a key component and therefore we cannot accommodate 100% remote work for this member of our team.

Here's how you'll make an impact:

  • Partner with People & Culture to ensure employees are onboarded effectively, allowing our new hires to get up-and-running smoothly, through new account provisioning and setup.
  • Train and support employees in learning and maximizing their use of our go-to tools (Google Workspace, Slack, etc).
  • Work with employees across the business to troubleshoot and fix issues with hardware and software as they arise.
  • Work with Finance and other stakeholders to periodically count, purchase, upgrade, and maintain our inventory of IT equipment.
  • Roll out new technologies, systems, and tools across the business to drive productivity and continuously improve privacy and security across our org-wide team of 115~ employees.
  • Enable our company’s scalability by establishing reliable and robust processes related to the responsibilities above.

These will help you succeed:

  • 4+ years working in IT Operations and/or IT Security; you’ve experienced enough that you can operate with autonomy and flexibility to adapt when needed.
  • Highly proficient in administering SAAS software, including Google Workspace, Slack, Okta, Mosyle, BetterCloud and Zoom. Experience of working in tech start-ups would be useful!
  • Excellent understanding of computer systems, networking, security, and databases. This will help you get up to speed quickly.
  • Must be meticulous as well as detail and process-oriented.
  • Excellent time and project management skills to be able to effectively balance multiple simultaneous priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to courteously support internal & external stakeholders; from staff to executive level.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology, IT Administration or Project Management.

You can do amazing things at PocketHealth. You can positively impact the healthcare journey for millions of people, while building your career and developing your skills. It doesn’t have to be one or the other. It has been a part of our mission since our founding to empower patients & make healthcare accessible to all, and we know this can only be achieved with a team of diverse perspectives that is representative of the Patient & Provider communities we serve.

PocketPHolk love working here for these reasons and more; working remotely, our competitive salaries and benefits (stock options too!), four weeks of paid time off, unlimited wellness days, extended mental health coverage and beyond - it’s important to us that our PocketPHolk are taken care of in the same way we take care of our Patients & Providers.

If there are ways we can support you through the recruitment process with an accommodation, please let us know by reaching out to DEI@pocket.health. Applications are accepted via posting only.
