The Systems Administrator deploys and maintains core IT Infrastructure services. This includes the support of servers, storage, and network infrastructure on site. The ideal candidate will be a systems administrator with a diversified skill set that caters to both systems and network administrator tasks.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage and support servers including Windows 2012, 2016, 2019 Servers, Microsoft Active Directory and Exchange
- Manage and support core infrastructure services such as LDAP, DHCP, DNS, MDT, TM, WSUS and SCCM services, file and print services
- Manage and support VMware virtualization technology for servers and desktop
- Manage and support Switch, layer3 routing and firewall
- Manage and support Data storage
- Manage and support VMware Horizon View
- Manage and support Meraki AP Network
- Implement the Cybersecurity defense plan
- Manage and migrate Windows Services onto Microsoft cloud
- Plan and execute server patching
- Manage and monitor all data backups, maintaining data on-site and off-site as determined by business requirements; and perform regular test of restoring
- Monitor system log, performance and functions of infrastructure services, initiating proactive maintenance effort as needed
- Identify and resolve problems affecting systems performance, efficiency, and availability in a timely manner
- Analyze system usage and suggest for growth or increases in system capacity
- Create and update server setup, configuration and troubleshooting documentations
- Participate in IT projects by understanding project objectives and scope, following project milestones, phases and elements, sharing technical expertise, and provide recommendations
QUALIFICATIONS:
Five plus (5+) years of combined experience covering the following areas:
- Managing and supporting Windows server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, DFS, File Service, TM, Print MDT, WSUS, SCCM services, and GPO validation, management, and implementation
- Managing and supporting Microsoft Exchange including experience with mailbox server failover, DAG management, backup, recovery and PowerShell commands needed to manage Exchange features, roles, mailboxes, performance and troubleshooting
- System and Network administration, primarily in areas of HP Server, storage, Switch, VLANs, Routing, Firewall, VPNs
- Managing and supporting VMware infrastructure and VMware Horizon View
Additional skills and experience:
- Experience with implementing system security and Cybersecurity defense plan
- Working knowledge of network and security management tools and techniques
- Working experience with Microsoft Azure, Exchange Online, OneDrive and Teams is a plus
- Programming and scripting experience in PowerShell, CLI and UNIX shell scripting.
- Experience with troubleshooting & resolving complex technical problems
- Experience writing reports and creating documentation processes and procedures
- Comfortable working under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational skill and initiative
- Resourcefulness in problem solving
- Demonstrated ability to work both collaboratively in a team environment as well as independently
- Recognized industry certification(s) with emphasis on servers, storage, network and cloud technologies in Microsoft, VMWare, Juniper Networks, Cisco Networks, Palo Alto Firewall, Azure and AWS would be considered an asset
