Manager, Application Development in Information Technology Services

As a member of the Information Technology Services Leadership team, contribute to the effectiveness of the Department by planning, organizing, and managing all technology aspects of the Application Development and Support group in alignment with departmental goals and objectives, policies, standards, and procedures. Provide leadership and direction to staff within the Application Development group in the delivery of best-in-class technology solutions to the campus community in alignment with the short and long-term goals of IT Services and the University.


  • Leads, manages, mentors, and monitors the team to ensure reliable operation and delivery of applications, systems, and related technologies / services
  • Support academic and administrative units in developing, implementing, and managing all applications, systems, and related technologies
  • Collaborate with other Managers within IT Services and other University stakeholders to manage and deliver projects related to the overall IT Strategic Plan
  • In consultation with the Assistant Director and / or Executive Director, IT Services, determine staffing, budget, and training requirement in support of achievement of strategic goals
  • Provide comprehensive, comprehensible, and timely documentation and / or reports (e.g., Project Scope Statements, Project Status /Timeline Reports, Budget Reports, Briefing Notes, etc.) upon request for consideration / review with various Departments, Committees, and other levels of Management
  • Provide strategic advice and guidance to Departments, Committees, and all levels of Management in the development and implementation of policies, procedures, standards, and best practices relating to desktop, server, and other associated technologies
  • Continually enhance professional, management and technological skills to further enable staff to deliver effective services, while considering and anticipating the impact of new and emerging technologies and services for the University
