We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager of Agile Software Development to lead one of our Payment Gateway Platform teams. This team plays a crucial role in ensuring seamless communication between payment terminals and the broader Moneris payment ecosystem using WebSocket, Node.js, Java, APIs, microservices, and Agile methodologies.
Location: You will be based in our Toronto, Montreal or Burnaby (BC) office and will work in a hybrid model.
Reporting Relationship: You will report to the Director of Software Development and Architecture.
Your Moneris Career - What you'll do
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of highly skilled software developers, fostering an Agile culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
- Platform Development: Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of 2 of our Payment Gateway Platforms, ensuring it meets the highest standards of performance, security, and scalability.
- Technical Expertise: Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in software development, WebSocket, Node.js, Java, APIs, microservices, and Agile methodologies to drive innovation within the team.
- Project Management: Effectively manage projects and resources, ensuring on-time delivery of high-quality software solutions.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional Agile teams, including product management, quality assurance, and SRE, to align development efforts with business goals.
- Code Review: Conduct code reviews to ensure code quality, adherence to coding standards, and best practices.
- Technical Problem Solving: Act as a technical leader and guide the team in resolving complex technical challenges.
- Performance Optimization: Continuously monitor and optimize the platform for performance, security, and scalability.
- Documentation: Ensure comprehensive documentation of software architecture, design, and processes.
Your Moneris Career - What you bring
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of proven experience managing software development teams in an Agile environment.
- Strong Hands-on technical background in Node.js, Java, WebSocket, REST APIs, RDBMS, and microservices architecture.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience in payment processing or financial technology (FinTech) is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Familiarity with payment industry standards and compliance (e.g., PCI DSS) is advantageous.
- Agile team management certification is a plus.
