Nanofabrication Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Nanofabrication Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of various nanofabrication processes and a strong ability to execute precise, detail-oriented work. You enjoy spending your day in a cleanroom environment, collaborating daily with a diverse, multi-disciplinary team of engineers, scientists, and other technical experts to push the boundaries of innovation.


WHAT WE NEED YOU TO DO

  • Operate a variety of nanofabrication equipment, including but not limited to: deposition systems, lithography tools, etching systems, and characterization tools.
  • Execute fabrication processes according to detailed procedures and protocols.
  • Collaborate with researchers and engineers to develop and optimize new processes.
  • Maintain meticulous records of process parameters, equipment performance, and experimental results.
  • Adhere to strict cleanroom protocols and safety guidelines.


WHAT YOU BRING TO OUR TEAM

  • Associate's degree or equivalent technical training in a related field.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in nanofabrication.
  • Broad knowledge of multiple nanofabrication processes, including thin film deposition, wet processing, lithography, etching, and characterization.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain accurate records.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent multitasking and organizational abilities.
  • Openness to work flexible hours in a cleanroom environment (this role is based on a 40-hour work week).
  • Ability to work at multiple locations within the greater Vancouver Area.

An exceptional candidate will bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, or a related field.
  • Experience working in a shared-use facility, such as a university cleanroom, is preferred.
  • Experience with specific nanofabrication techniques (e.g., atomic layer deposition, electron beam lithography, deep reactive ion etching).
  • Experience with photonics/optical measurements is a plus.
  • Knowledge of statistical process control and data analysis.

The base annual salary range for this full-time role is between $74,000 to $102,000. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target range for new hire base salary across all Canadian locations. Actual compensation may vary outside of this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to a candidate's qualifications including relevant education and training, competencies, experience, geographic location, and business needs. Base pay is only one part of the total compensation package. Full time roles are eligible for equity and benefits. Base pay is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
