Quality Assurance Lead
$78,729.94 - $89,687.19 annually which includes a 6.6% Temporary Market Adjustment*
The BC Vital Statistics Agency is responsible through legislation for the following registries: births, deaths, stillbirths, marriages, changes of name, adoptions, wills, and the health status registry. The Agency registers all vital events occurring in British Columbia and maintains registries and records of those events. The Systems Unit develops and maintains a variety of applications including several Java-based web applications, an Oracle web forms application, which supports internal operations, and a B2B ebXML messaging system. The web applications allow service providers across BC to register vital events and allow the public to register births and to request documents relating to registered events.
The Quality Assurance (QA) Lead leads and performs QA activities for system and infrastructure changes at the Agency. This position is responsible for coordinating and prioritizing the flow of QA work for all systems development projects and maintenance, acting as primary liaison when testing with federal and provincial partners, and providing status updates to the application architect.
Qualifications for this role include:
- Degree in computer science or a related discipline and 4 years of related experience in an information technology testing role; or
- Related certification, program completion, or course work and 6 years of related experience in an information technology testing role; or
- An equivalent combination of 8 years of education and related experience may be considered.
Recent related experience must include:
- Supervisory experience
- Quality assurance experience
- Automated testing
- Creating & understanding user stories
