Senior Director, Connectivity Initiatives
$96,400.00 - $128,100.03 annually
The Ministry of Citizens’ Services delivers accessible, multi-channel services through a single-point-of-contact service approach to people in urban and rural communities through Service BC and delivers the digital face of government at www.gov.bc.ca. The Connectivity Division leads the government’s mandate to expand internet connectivity to all British Columbians in all corners of the Province.
The Senior Director, Connectivity Initiatives provides leadership support to connectivity programs that bridge the digital divide within British Columbia. The position supports a team that applies technical expertise to assess connectivity projects and support the program objectives and decision-making of the division. Working within the Network BC team, the Senior Director maximizes opportunities to explore, understand, and illuminate technical opportunities related to voice, broadband and cellular networks and how to incorporate emerging technologies.
Qualifications for this role include:
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in telecommunications, engineering, computer science, law or relevant area of study.
Recent, related experience must include all of the following:
- Telecommunication industry experience (e.g. regulatory work, requirements gathering, network architecture, and systems engineering for voice, broadband, cellular and/or LAN/WLAN/WAN services).
- Experience with business case analysis and planning relating to network deployments to meet specific needs – e.g. for voice, broadband, cellular and/or LAN/WLAN/WAN data services.
- Experience working with a variety of telecommunications equipment vendors.
- Experience in a role that requires the business implications of decisions related to telecommunications service delivery to be examined.
- Experience with stakeholder engagement and consultation.
