The opportunity:

Sr. Software Engineer 

You will be a key contributor to Tasktop Viz, a new category-defining analytics product that enables business leaders to make better decisions about their software development practices. You’ll work on cutting edge technologies such as Kubernetes, Kafka, and AWS EMR (Spark). You will help drive our cloud-first culture and serve as a mentor to the junior engineers on the team.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain and evolve, feature implementation, ensuring the requirements are met in a timely appropriate manner
  • Ensure all components are highly scalable and maintainable
  • Own the features and components developed. You live the mantra of “you build it, you run it” and understand that DevOps is a culture and not a role.
  • Experience bringing SLOs to life by providing comprehensive monitoring and actionable alerts.
  • Work with team members to achieve their best by supporting a culture of mentorship, continual learning, knowledge sharing of best practices, and contributing to the positive discussion and debate of ideas.
  • Work on designing, developing, deploying and operating your services in native Cloud environments for production usage.


Skills:

Great candidates have the following skills; if you need to catch up on some of these skills we provide self-directed training to all members of our Product Development teams.

  • You love to code. Excellent development skills and professional experience using a JVM language.
  • You’ve been building applications professionally for 4+ years. Experience designing and developing software solutions
  • Experience building large-scale cloud data platforms with microservices with proficiency in Java and/or Scala and Kubernetes.
  • Experience working with cloud infrastructure providers such as AWS or GCP.
  • A self starter with the ability to work effectively in teams with excellent spoken / written communication
  • Experience with continuous integration/deployment tooling such as Jenkins, Travis CI, or Spinnaker.
  • You can lead technical architecture discussions and help drive technical decisions within your team.
  • You write understandable, testable code with an eye towards maintainability.

  • Experience with Kubernetes.
  • Experience working with AWS services and environment
