Senior Technical Specialist

$96,879.48 - $110,631.15 annually which includes a 9.9% Temporary Market Adjustment*

 

The Senior Technical Specialist is responsible for the leadership of the Web Access Management (WAM) technical team, who manages the Province’s critical Single Sign on integrations that are primarily delivered through SiteMinder, and for the successful technical operations and hands on management of the Province’s Application Synchronization Services, Government Telephone Directory Service (GTDS) and the Common Login Page Service (CLP). 

Qualifications for this role include:

  • Degree in the information security, cyber security, information systems, computer science or related field, and 6 years of recent (within last 10 years) related experience; OR
  • Diploma in the information security, cyber security, information systems, computer science or related field, and 8 years of recent (within last 10 years) related experience; OR
  • An equivalent combination of education, training and recent (within last 10 years) related experience may be considered.
  •  

Related experience includes ALL of the following:

  • Three (3) or more years of recent experience supporting Identity and Access Management (IAM) services in a single sign on environment.
  • Two (2) or more years of leadership experience managing staff in a security, Identity and Access Management or related environment. 
  • Two (2) or more years of recent experience creating complex database queries (SQL) used in the maintenance, support, and development of relational databases.
  • Three (3) years of recent experience as an application developer creating database driven web applications.
  • Five (5) or more years experience translating complex functional, technical, security and business requirements into architectural designs, workflow plans or other related technical artifacts.
  • Two (2) or more years experience working with a code repository solution, such as but not limited to Subversion, GitHub, etc.
  • Experience working in complex delivery, test and production information technology shared environments accessed by multiple technical teams.
  • Demonstrated experience in the ability to create documentation / technical content.
  • Experience with:
  • Managing infrastructure within a RedHat and Microsoft Windows Server Environments.
  • Apache Web Server.
  • Shell Scripting (Bash/PowerShell, etc.)
  • Development/Scripting/Query Languages such as, but not limited to: Perl CGI, SQL, Java, JavaScript, XML, JSON, LDAP, LDIF, DOS, etc.
