This corporate posting will be used to establish a cross-ministry eligibility list to fill future permanent vacancies in multiple ministries and locations identified in this posting. Positions from the list will be offered in rank order, as vacancies arise, based on the locations applicants have selected during the hiring process. Some positions may be performed from any approved location within the province of BC through a voluntary telework agreement (with conditions as set out in applicable employer policies), other positions may have office-based requirements. Applicants will be asked to indicate their preferred work location(s) at a later stage in the process.

Site Reliability Specialist

$72,724.97 - $83,014.85 annually plus 9.9% Temporary Market Adjustment

 

The Site Reliability Specialist (SRS) combines software and systems engineering to build and run at scale, distributed and fault-tolerant software products. This role ensures that services have reliability, uptime appropriate to create happy clients while supporting the demand of DevOps to deliver at a fast rate of improvement. SRS’s keep an ever-watchful eye on the systems capacity and performance.

Qualifications for this role include:


  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Computer Science or related field and a minimum two (2) years’ relevant experience; OR,
  • Post-secondary diploma in Computer Science or related field and a minimum three (3) years’ relevant experience; OR,
  • An equivalent combination of *related education and experience.


*Related Education fields may include Data Science, Dev Ops, GIS, IT, statistics, mathematics, web development or other relevant specialty education as designated by program requirements.
