Software Developer - Enterprise Systems

As a Software Developer, you will focus on specifying, building, maintaining, and supporting technical infrastructure in our production and test environments. You are responsible for developing implementing and improving the technical design of our enterprise-level systems and a master at working through technical project life cycles to ensure business objectives are met.


About the Role: As a technical expert, you have extensive software development experience and deep technical operational expertise that complement your ability to work effectively with a diverse group of technical and non-technical stakeholders and end-user. You thrive in solving problems and driving efficiency through system and processes design and see yourself as a key enabler of the company’s success.


Location: Head office, Edmonton

Reports to: VP, Development and Infrastructure


Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Oversee and maintain enterprise applications and systems to ensure scalability and operational performance.
  • Identify, develop, implement, and support scalable systems that drive efficiency and satisfy company objectives.
  • Coordinate and execute software development and implementation activities with external development and vendor resources.
  • Identify and surface business performance metrics aligned to defined outcomes.
  • Contribute to discussions with project stakeholders, department, and program management on strategic goals, resources, scheduling, and solutions that address challenges.
  • Ensure executive and stakeholder visibility on project challenges, timelines, and status.
  • Mentor, guide, and coach team members and technical and non-technical users on system processes and capability.
  • Other duties and projects as required.

Job Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related discipline.
  • +8 years of experience working with multiple programming languages and demonstrated success collaborating with technical resources such as software developers and QA.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills as seen in your strong ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical users.
  • Extensive experience working with specific hardware and software systems, and demonstrated ability to design, analyze and troubleshoot IT at a systems level.
