Sr Programmer Analyst - Emerging Technologies

About the Team

The AXIS and Corporate Systems Group is responsible for the development and maintenance of the core business applications that support the day to day operations of Fidelity Canada. We use an industry standard development life cycle methodology to ensure that we deliver high-quality code that exceeds our clients’ expectations.


What You Will Do

As a highly technical Senior Programmer Analyst, you are accountable for developing, enhancing, modifying and maintaining the application and software solutions for internal clients;

  • You will work with other team members, business partners and other IS groups to provide innovative solutions that will enhance the user experience and improve productivity.
  • Design, code, test, debug and document computer programs based on specific business requirements
  • Ensures that functional specifications can be implemented technically while developing and innovating commercial technology assets to meet objectives


The Expertise Your Bring

  • University degree preferably in the field of computer science
  • 3+ experience with the full life cycle of software development
  • Strong Java full stack web development experience to enhance our existing work-flow applications
  • Experience in gathering and analyzing business requirements
  • Strong sense of urgency, tenacity and a desire to accomplish successfully
  • Commitment to continuously evolve skills and keep up to date with latest technology
  • Logical and clear thinker
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Strong communicator, both written and verbal


Technologies:

  • Java
  • JavaScript
  • HTML/ HTML5
  • Angular 4+
  • Intelligent Character Recognition (ICR)/Optical Character Recognition (OCR)


The following are assets:

  • Experience working with web services development
  • Bootstrap, rapid prototyping, Kofax scanning technology, Machine Learning
  • Programming knowledge/experience with Intelligent Character Recognition (ICR) and Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technologies
  • Prior Investment or Mutual Fund experience


Given the current circumstances, the resource will be working from home, 100% of time. As working conditions return to normal, they will be expected to be onsite.
