Talent Experience Specialist

Toronto, ON

Bonsai’s mission is to help people find and buy the products they want, as soon as they realize they want them. We began in 2016 as a streetwear style and news app. Now we’re leading the market shift to content-driven commerce. We are helping publishers launch e-commerce as a new line of business. We already do this for over 200M+ monthly unique visitors on some of North America’s leading publishers, including BuzzFeed and Complex. We’ve been featured in the Wall Street Journal and Business Insider for leading the charge in a new wave of native commerce, but the opportunity is still largely untapped.

Our technology allows users to transact natively while browsing content. We make the journey from seeing a product to buying it possible in two taps. Our vision is to make this possible everywhere you discover products. For publishers, we provide a powerful revenue alternative to ads that also improves the user experience. For merchants, Bonsai allows them to capture customers while they browse content, right when purchasing intent is being formed.

The people team at Bonsai exists to support the people and the business. We’re responsible for finding world-class talent for the Bonsai team and helping to look after them once they start with us. We’re a team of specialists who care about the employee & candidate experience, empowering teams to offer an amazing hiring process and employee journey at Bonsai. We facilitate this through feedback cycles, data, research and our combined experience in the team coming from other product companies. The Talent Experience Specialist will be able to jump between both HR and recruitment. This role is an exciting mix of identifying and bringing new talent into the business, as well as ensuring our existing talent has the HR support they need and Bonsai offers an amazing employee experience.

  • Collaborate with the Head of People and People & Talent Coordinator on planning and executing diversity and inclusion initiatives.
  • Re-think and design our annual review process and work towards implementing a compensation framework.
