Hybrid Work Model 

This position is located in our Victoria, BC office. You will have the opportunity to work part of the time on-campus and part of the time off-campus. Guidelines and requirements for in-office presence are determined by operational need and vary according to the unique needs of each business area. 


The opportunity 


We are seeking a Team Lead, IT Security to join our team in VICTORIA, British Columbia, Canada.  


In this role, you will oversee the daily operations of the Security Operations Centre (SOC). This includes providing leadership and mentorship to the SOC team and coordinating with key stakeholders to address security incidents and threats. You will play a critical role in maintaining, monitoring, and administering security tools, technology, and services to improve the corporation’s security posture and mitigate cyber threats. You will also ensure all activity conforms to corporate security policy and procedures and other relevant legislation and meets the highest security standards for a variety of sensitive information. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, along with a deep understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices.

What do you need to succeed? 


Must have 

 

  • Master’s degree in computer science or related field; OR bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field; OR an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience may be considered. 
  • Five years’ experience in an IT security operations role, including current technologies and best practices. 
  • Three years’ experience leading teams of IT professionals, including assigning and evaluating work, conducting performance reviews, and providing coaching. 
  • Five years’ experience working in a Microsoft environment with a security focus. 
  • Three years’ experience with change management processes and project management methodologies. 


Nice to have 


  • Professional designation as a Certified Information Systems Security Professional or Certified Information Security Manager, or equivalent. 
  • Microsoft Azure / M365 Security Services experience, such as Intune, Sentinel, Defender, Cloud Security, etc., would be an asset.
